‘Meet The Tigers” night is always an exciting time for Noxapater athletes, students, and fans as they prepare to kick off the fall sports season. It was even more special for Noxapater senior lineman Kyler Carter, but it wasn’t all about football.
During the event held last week, Carter was officially presented with his State Championship ring for winning the MHSAA Class 1A individual powerlifting championship for the 275-pound weight class.
Carter had lifts of 450 in the squat, 295 in the bench press and 475 in the dead lift for a total of 1,220 pounds to take the State championship. That bettered his South State championship total of 1,145 pounds.
