Lady Eagles set to begin basketball season Thursday

Free baseball coaches clinic set for Nov. 18

Eric DuBose, Dr. Bhrett McCabe, Cal Tinsley and Chuck Box will be the featured speakers at a free baseball coaches clinic at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at New Hope High School in Columbus. DuBose is a former standout pitcher at Mississippi State who went on to have a five-year career with Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles.

The Warriors of Nanih Waiya High School scored five first-half touchdowns on the way to a 38-7 win over Vardaman on Friday, to improve to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in Region 2-1A play. The second half was played with a running clock. Next up for NW is a home game with Smithville High School on Friday night.

Noxapater assistant reaches out to help opponent

French Camp senior two-way lineman Logan Campbell is receiving help from a coach at a rival school. Following the Panthers' 42-15 victory over Noxapater, he was approached by Taylor Quick, Noxapater's offensive line coach. “After the game, he came up to me and asked if I had signed with anyone. It completely caught me off guard.” Campbell said.
