French Camp senior two-way lineman Logan Campbell is receiving help from a coach at a rival school. Following the Panthers' 42-15 victory over Noxapater, he was approached by Taylor Quick, Noxapater's offensive line coach. “After the game, he came up to me and asked if I had signed with anyone. It completely caught me off guard.” Campbell said. He hasn't signed with anyone so Quick offered assistance. “Over the years between playing football and coaching I have met a lot of people. I have a lot of connections I can reach out to and put the information in their hands,” Quick said. “I would be glad to do that because I really respect the way he (Campbell) plays. He has qualities you see in some guys that the coaches want. He’s not the biggest kid in the world. He’s not the fastest kid. But he plays with a relentless motor and that says a lot.” Quick gave Campbell tips on putting together a highlight film that Quick has provided to coaches at Mississippi College, Belhaven and most of the state’s junior colleges. “I’m working on getting in touch with some people I know at Division II colleges outside the state.” Campbell would like to play football at the next level and said he will go anywhere that he receives an offer. Quick played football at Hinds Community College, Ole Miss and Belhaven. “College football was such a fun, fun time for me.” He is in his first year at Noxapater, where he will also coach golf and powerlifting. He has previous coaching experience at Mississippi College, Coldwater, Morton and Starkville. As an end, Campbell led a defense that kept Noxapater in check for most of the game. He was credited with six tackles, including five for losses. For the year, he has 20 solo tackles and 17 assists, with 10 for losses and six sacks. Campbell also anchors the offensive line that has led the way for 207 yards per game on the ground. “He’s one of those guys who gets the job done,” said French Camp coach Nathan Wright. “He doesn’t just get it done, he gets it done well. He’s a quiet leader. He just goes out there and takes care of business every day.” At 6-1 and 230 pounds, Campbell has good size for 1A football. His favorite player is Aaron Donald, the L.A. Rams’ all star defensive tackle.
