PEARL – Former East Mississippi basketball standout Max Johnson was one of 15 individuals inducted into the Mississippi Community and Junior College Sports Hall of Fame during the 16th annual induction banquet held April 26 at the Clyde Muse Center on Hinds Community College’s Rankin Campus.

Noxapater Tiger baseball season ends

Noxapater saw its season come to an end last week with a pair of blowout losses to Richton win the second round of the Class 1A playoffs.

The Tigers were no-hit on Friday night as they fell 15-0 and then fell 13-1 on Saturday to see their season come to an end.

The Tigers finish the season with a 10-13 record.

Nanih Waiya wraps up winning baseball season

The Nanih Waiya baseball team ran into one of Class 2A’s top teams last week in traditional power East Union.

The Urchins powered past the Warriors, winning game 1 of the series 11-0 on Thursday and finishing with a 20-3 win on Friday.

Nanih Waiya finishes the season with a 13-12 record.

Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors end great softball season

After a first-round bye, the Nanih Waiya softball team saw its season come to an end last week.

The Lady Warriors fell in two tight games with Stringer, falling 9-7 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday.

Nanih Waiya finishes the season with an 18-8 record after the two losses.
