The Nanih Waiya baseball team ran into one of Class 2A’s top teams last week in traditional power East Union.
The Urchins powered past the Warriors, winning game 1 of the series 11-0 on Thursday and finishing with a 20-3 win on Friday.
Nanih Waiya finishes the season with a 13-12 record.

The Warriors managed just one hit as the Urchins took a run-rule win in game 1 of the series on Thursday.
East Union scored six runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third and finished with one in the fourth.
East Union outhit Nanih Waiya 8-1 in the contest. Ked Moore had Nanih Waiya’s only hit as the Warriors struck out 12 times.
Moore started on the mound and pitched all four innings, giving up 11 runs on eight hits and six walks while striking out two.

The Urchins scored in every inning as they took a run-rule win in game 2 of the series on Friday.
East Union scored five runs in the top of the first and Nanih Waiya scored two in the bottom of the frame. East then added one in the second, five in the third and three in the fourth. Nanih Waiya added one in the bottom of the fourth while East Union finished with six in the fifth for the final margin.
East Union outhit Nanih Waiya 12-5 and took advantage of eight errors and five walks. Tanner Courtney, Ked Moore and Aiden Hill each doubled.
Courtney started on the mound and pitched three innings, giving up 11 runs on seven hits and three walks. Hill pitched the next 1 1/3 innings and gave up nine runs on five hits. Walt McLendon pitched the last 2/3 of an inning for the Warriors.
