Members of the Eupora Historic Preservation Commission are gathered at their last meeting. The commission will have its second quarterly meeting Monday, April 1, at 6 p.m. beginning at the Eupora city board meeting and adjourning afterwards.
It was a full house March 29 at the Maben Public Library as the Maben Home and Garden Club held the March meeting there.
The noonday meeting was hosted by VP Sylvia Templeton, who also served as the monthly speaker. The program focused on the proper way to plant a hanging basket.
The Kosciusko/ Attala County Commemoration Committee held its 21st Annual Image Award Banquet at the Kosciusko high school commons on January 19. This year's theme was "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere".
Mt. Salem and First Unity United Methodist Churches will host their 18th Year Pastor Appreciation Program honoring Pastor Lyndon B. and First Lady Thelma Geeter on Sunday, March 31, 2019 beginning at 3:00 pm. The program will be held at First Unity United Methodist Church, 63 Coleman Road Weir, MS.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. held it Joint Founders day program on January 26 at the Bethel MB Church in Starkville. Rho Nu Zeta chapter of Kosciusko was one of the host chapter from the Golden Triangle area. The theme was "Recharged and Rededicated to helping the community."
The Cross of Christ roadside cross project is being blessed by God every day. Churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals in the Webster, Choctaw and surrounding area have been generous in gifts to the cross that will be located at the intersection of highway 82 and highway 9. On Saturday, April 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., the Dixie Pan Club of Choctaw County will host Panhandle Spring Day. This event will be held in the newly renovated Panhandle Community Center building.
