The Eupora Rotary Club recognized senior Lila Bigham as Rotary Student of the Month from East Webster High School at its March 3 luncheon.
She was introduced by Teacher of the Month Carolyn Henley.
Lila’s awards and recognition include Merit Scholar, Duke TIP Student, Duke TIP State Recognition and “A” Honor Roll. She is also a dual-enrollment student. Her clubs and organizations include the Interact Club, Beta Club, National Society of High School Scholars, Phi Theta Kappa and Student Council representative.
Lila has been a member of the two-time state champion band for seven years, and a member of the Colorguard and Winterguard for four years.
Her volunteer/community service includes attending last June’s Apex Leadership Summit in Oxford. She also plans to participate in Rustic Pathways this June in Costa Rica. This will involve local infrastructure projects, construction projects including building classrooms, and helping promote sustainability and greener environment.
Lila plans to attend Mississippi State University to major in criminology with a minor in French. She will be a member of the Shackouls Honor College.
