The Eupora Rotary Club recognized Eupora High School senior Avery Tollison as Rotary Student of the Month at its Oct. 1 luncheon. He was introduced by Teacher of the Month Rebecca Crimm.
At EHS, Avery is member of the Interact Club (president), FCA, Beta Club (vice president), FLBA, Biology Club, Drama Club and baseball team. He currently ranks third in his class.
His citizenship activities have included:
• Walthall Baptist Church youth —Mission Arlington 2019.
• Member of Mayor’s Youth Council
• Beta Club — gave pencils to elementary students, made door decorations and visited the hospital’s long-term care unit, donated canned food for the canned food drive, gave items to help with families in need at Christmas and gave money to go toward gift certificates to local restaurants to give to community helpers in appreciation for their service.
• FCA — donated money to help with shipping costs for Operation Christmas Child (2016-19), donated canned food for the canned food drive and made hearts to put on doors for the nursing home.
• Interact — donated dog food for the Sheriff’s Department for stray dogs, helped take up money for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and donated items for soldiers overseas.
• Biology Club — participated in Cleanup Day at EHS.
