Friday at the Maben Public Library we read the story “It Looked like Spilt Milk” by Charles G. Shaw.”
The weather was just right and a few clouds were in the sky. We enjoyed the story and then the children laid on a quilt to look up at the sky and pick out shapes in the clouds. Then they drew some of the shapes in the book — flower, angel, owl, tree, birthday cake, etc. — with sidewalk chalk.
After that we went inside to paint with white paint on blue paper and then folded to see what shape was created. I did have one little boy that liked his the way he painted it so he painted another picture. After we painted our cloud shapes, we painted with all different colors on some white paper that was taped to the table.
The children enjoyed all of the painting and outside activities. We even have a nice playground that they played on before storytime.
Friday we had Brittany, Adelyn, John Wyatt and Ansley Parker; Kinsley and Jace Dodd; Marylea, Joshua, Lydia, Mason and Sadie Thornton; Marilyn Brown and Lilli Cate Anderson.
