The Louisville Fortnightly Club met Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Lake Tiak O’Khata. Mrs. Stanely Hathorn, President, welcomed everyone. There were thirteen members and four guests present. How very special to have four generations from Mrs. Meredith Matthews family present! A delicious refreshment plate including chicken salad, congealed salad, and cheese straws was served. Hostesses were Mrs. Dewitt Crawford, Mrs. Richard Hunt, and Mrs. Meredith Matthews.
Mrs. Crawford introduced Miss Jordan Miller, great granddaughter of Mrs. Matthews who gave a beautiful vocal Christmas program. Selections included “There’s a Little Bit of Heaven Everywhere”, “The First Noel”, and “Christmas Is”. Jordan enjoys playing the piano and sharing her gifts of music at churches as well as in our community. Members and guests thoroughly enjoyed hearing her!
Next, Mrs. Hathorn called the club into a business meeting. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Club Collect. Mrs. Tommy Boydstun gave roll call and reading of the minutes. Additionally, Mrs. Wayne Gordon gave the Treasure’s report. Ornaments were given to everyone and Christmas tea towels were given as door prizes. The meeting was adjourned.
