Forever Outdoors founder Rob “Bobcat” Robinson of Webster County has been helping veterans enjoy outdoor adventures.
He and Josh St. John, a wounded Army veteran from Manhattan, Kan., fished the night of Sept. 4 in Missouri. This was the St. John’s first time to fish under the lights.
Their guide was Brent Frazee, who wrote for the Kansas City Star for 36 years. Frazee is coming down to Mississippi next month to go crappie fishing with Robinson at Grenada Lake.
Later, Robinson guided Vietnam War veteran Delwin Akins on outdoor adventures in western Kansas. While in Hoxie, Kan., they shot doves and prairie dogs, fished and and planned to go on a muzzleloader deer hunt this week.
On Sunday, they participated in a benefit in Hoxie honoring veterans with a barbecue meal and signing up live organ donors. Robinson said he was going to try to help more veterans enjoy the outdoors.
