Oct. 29-Nov. 13
The last week of October started us off by visits from ghost and goblins, even when they came in cute little packages.
We enjoyed our Trunk-R-Treat outside full of candy and even pigs! Diversicare thanks Mississippi HomeCare and Legacy Hospice for making its second Trunk-R-Treat such a successful community event. We had little ones visit us this year inside also. This is always a treat.
We had our Halloween party and costume contest on Halloween. The staff really went all out this year, even a few of us residents joined in the fun but the best outfit was Anne Young in her clown outfit.
Eupora Elementary came over this year on the first of November because of the rain but we still enjoyed it. It’s a joy to be able to give the little ones candy, even if they don’t need it always.
Later in the week it was voting day. On this day all the activities are in the dining room but that’s OK, we sound just as good in there. Wednesday , Shelley from Mississippi HomeCare brought in some goodies for us for bingo and we did our bingo a little different but I liked it. On Thursday Jerry Helms led us in song; good morning we had.
The second week of November started us off with honoring our veterans. Angie from Kindred Hospice came in and pinned us veterans, and brought us sweet little cookies and refreshments. Johnny Vaughn drew us some American flags and colored them, and they had them framed for us all. It was really sweet and thoughtful, the whole service.
The next day the ladies from Mulls Sing-a-Long came in. Despite the bitter cold they still showed up for us. Wednesday, LaDonna Caffey and Duane Shurden brought us a good singing; man that LaDonna can sing and play!
Wednesday we had a treat at bingo. Did you know there is such a day as Pizza and Pickles Day? Well, the Leslies did. Yep, that’s what we had, pizza and pickles. It was actually a pretty good combo.
