A small group Jan. 18 at the Maben Public Library but what fun we had.
We read “What Snowmen Do at Night.” After reading we then painted a picture of what we learned that snowmen do at night. They like to go to the park, have snowman races, drink cold cocoa, play baseball games with snowballs and their broom, have snowball fights and sled down hills.
So if we get enough snow we can build our own snowman and know what they will do at night while we are sleeping. The book also has some hidden pictures that we had fun finding.
After painting we had our own hot chocolate and did some ice skating, which is always fun.
Jan. 25 Storytime
We read the story about “The Polka-Dot Puppy” on Jan. 25. Only one little girl was in attendance on this cold day.
Our story told of a puppy who was lonely and wanted a home. He wanted to stay first at a bakery, then a toy store, a grocery, but sadly no dogs ere allowed.
It was getting dark and he was cold when a night watchman saw him and gave him a blanket to keep him warm. Soon the dog smelled smoke, and started barking and alerted the night watchman that there was a fire.
He called the fire department and they came and put the fire out. They also took the polka-dot puppy to the fire station, where he then had a home where he was loved and warm. This dog was a Dalmation and like most dogs has a very good nose.
Kaylyn Davis and Patricia Pilkington were in attendance Jan. 25. We had fun making a polka-dot puppy with bingo dot markers, and writing our name with markers and in shaving cream.
