In 2019 the Winston County 4H program saw unprecedented growth with the addition of some new and innovative club opportunities. As well as club(s) establishment, these programs were also implemented with the addition of new registered 4H volunteers. Without the assistance of these volunteers, Winston 4H could not offer these unique educational opportunities for our local young people to as the slogan states; “Make the Best Better.”
Well, 2020 will see the momentum continue with the addition of the newest club, Winston 4H Grill Club. That’s right, Grill Club. You may see, and smell a lot of smoke from the Extension office this year, but no worries its smoke generated by “Learning by Doing” for some lucky 4Hers. If you have a young person that would like to learn to grill and do it safely with other like-minded youth, this club is for you. In addition to learning how to grill with expert volunteers, there will be state and district competitions available for 4Hers to participate.
If this sound like fun, and you want to be a volunteer, or get a young person involved, give the Winston County Extension Office a call for more information and details of club meetings and schedule. Winston 4H will be going up in smoke this year, but in a good and delicious way!
