Robertson recently spoke at the Louisville Rotary Club about his book.
Stark Villains delivers an in-depth look at the longstanding rivalry between Mississippi State and Ole Miss. These pages are loaded with tales of misadventure, hilarious pranks, heroic game-winning efforts, history and much more.
Stark Villains is unique because it is written from a Mississippi State perspective. Inside is a collection of tales from the rivalry as recalled by those Bulldogs who lived it, played it and coached it.
Long before there were even two major universities in Mississippi, there were two factions of people battling for control of the Magnolia State—blue-collar and white-collar folks. This early feud spilled over into athletics at State and Ole Miss and has evolved into one of the most bitter rivalries in college sports.
For the first time, Bulldog fans can read how their heroes view the Rebels and how deeply the quest for in-state pride resonates in the hearts of each storyteller.
Stark Villains is Robertson’s second book. His No. 1 bestselling book Flim Flam led to the end of the Hugh Freeze era at Ole Miss.
This 312-page hardcover book makes a perfect gift for the avid college sports fan.
