FROM NEIGHBORING COUNTIES: Mrs. Glenn Mallory of Slate Springs has been spending several days with her daughter, Mrs. Robt. Smith at West Point. - The little two-year-old daughter of Postmaster Jesse Pope of Stewart died at their home last Sunday morning, having been ill only a few days. The remains of the little one were laid to rest in the family burial ground at Sybleton Monday.
PERSONAL MENTION: Mr. Grover McKee returned yesterday from a visit to Slate Springs. - Miss Mary Harvey of Winona is on a visit to Mr. J. W. Harvey’s family. - Postmaster J. H. Elkins left this morning for Ethel to attend the Yazoo Presbytery. - Mrs. Jno. Fullilove and Mrs. Sandage of Vaiden are on a visit to Mrs. J. T. Harvey near Grady. - Mr. Frank Therrell returned Monday to Grenada after a two-weeks visit to his brother, Mr. Wm. Therrell. - Mr. G. R. Collins who has been spending a few days here with his brother, Mr. O. C. Collins, left Monday for West Point. - Dr. Rube Lamb and Mr. Vince Dunlap left last night for Beaumont, Texas, where they go to make their future home. Dr. Lamb will return to Memphis in the fall where he will complete the study of his profession at the Memphis Medical College. - Mr. Jack Zinn and two daughters, Misses Willie May and Jennie Lee, of Slate Springs, spent a few days this week with Mr. and Mrs. Z. T. Patterson.

WEDDINGS: A happy marriage occurred last Sunday out at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cornell, four miles northwest of town, when their eldest daughter, Miss Renie Cornell, was led to Hymen’s alter by Mr. S. S. Dodd, of Choctaw county. A large number of friends and relatives were present to witness the ceremony, performed by Mayor F. E. Hood. - A marriage occurred at Cumberland Friday, the contracting parties being Mr. K. U. Ernest and Miss Savage. Elder T. H. Middleton officiated. Both were reared in this community.
TOWN AND COUNTY: Mr. Joe Hollingsworth is suffering from a very severe attack of slow fever. - Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Taylor of Clarkson returned home Monday after a few days visit to the family of Mr. J. H. Elkins.
- Mrs. Leona Ingram tendered a number of young people a social entertainment at her home Wednesday night. The event was given in honor of Misses Mary and Annie Harvey of Winona, who were Mrs. Ingram’s guests. A nice crowd was present and the evening proved an enjoyable one.
CUMBERLAND: Mr. N. D. Skelton was called to see his sister, Mrs. Andrew Womack, last Wednesday, as she had been quite sick for several days. - Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hodges of Missouri are visiting relatives here.
