MR. TOBE BENNETT LOSES HOUSE AND CONTENTS: The residence of Mr. Tobe Bennett, who lives in the Bluff Springs neighborhood, was destroyed by fire Saturday night, together with nearly all the household goods, leaving the family in a destitute condition. The fire originated from the kitchen flue and was discovered about 11 o’clock after the family had retired. The building was then almost entirely enveloped in flames and by the time the members of the household were aroused the roof was about to fall in. Only a few effects were saved as the family was compelled to seek safety at once. Mr. Bennett’s friends and neighbors came promptly to his assistance and donated household and personal effects to supply their needs.
