Born, to Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Quinn, on last Saturday morning, a fine girl. - Mrs. Adams of near Kosciusko is visiting her daughter, Mrs. S. W. Harrington for the present. - Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Rhodes and Miss Thelma Weeks are attending the encampment at Blue Mountain. - Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lance of Montgomery, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Baker of Shreveport, La. visited relatives and friends here during the past week. - Ackerman regrets exceeding to give up Mrs. J. D. Carr and family who are moving to Louisville to make their future home. C. E. Bright will occupy the residence vacated by Mrs. Carr.
W. R. Irving has rented the G. I. Martin residence and moved in to same this week. Mr. Smith, of Aberdeen, has moved into the residence vacated by Mr. Irving. - Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Buck left Tuesday for a short visit to relatives and friends in Lexington. While away, Mrs. Buck will attend the District Conference of the Woman’s Missionary Society as a delegate from the Ackerman Society.

Miss Nannie McKinnon and Mr. Marvin Adams surprised their many friends last Saturday morning by going to Weir and getting married, Rev. C. A. Parks performing the ceremony. The bride is the attractive daughter of Mrs. M. D. McKinnon, while the groom is a young man of sterling worth and a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Adams.
There will be a W. O. W. Unveiling of the Tomb over the remains of Dr. J. M. Kellum at the Spring Hill Church, 3 miles east of Reform, at 11 o’clock on Sunday, July 27th. All Woodsmen and the public are cordially invited. - The Choctaw Musical Association will meet with Self Creek Class in Oktibbeha county on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd days of August. A full delegation from all classes through the Associational District is urged to be present and let us have a grand convention.
Married at the Methodist Parsonage in the town of Chester, on last Tuesday night, Rev. McElroy officiating, Miss Clara Reed and Mr. Lee Bruce. The bride is the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Reed, who live south of Ackerman, and who for some time has been chief clerk in the Post office at this place. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Bruce and is a young man of exemplary habits and held in high esteem by all who know him.
