IN MEMORIAM: On Thursday morning of last week the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. McHan and carried away their beloved daughter, Versie. She was a member of the Baptist Church and had lived a Christian life ever since she joined. She was much loved by all who knew her. She had been sick for quite a while with typhoid fever. Her remains were carried to Concord and gently laid to rest, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. H. M. Whitten. She leaves mother and father, three brothers, and six sisters to mourn their loss.
FOOTBALL TODAY: The local Football team after a disastrous road trip has returned home and is preparing to meet the strong French Camp eleven. The team, after the absorption of a little wisdom which was gained in the encounter with West Point, will present a new line-up, although we will miss our star half-back, Bertrand Bruce, whose star playing and gains West Point was a feature. He repeatedly stopped the opposing boys by going through their lines and downing them for a loss until he received an injury and will now be out of the game for a few days. We all feel sure of the victory, although we will not let overconfidence repeat the disaster of the previous Friday.
