Miss Nannie McKinnon, who has been teaching at Coenhatta, has returned home. - Mrs. J. M. Wyatt of Shelby spent several days here during the past week with friends.
C. G. Collier of Beat One comes forward this week and announces for Justice Peace. He is one of the staunch men of that Beat and is at present holding the office to which he seeks a re-election. He has made a splendid official in every way, competent and worthy and if again chosen, will discharge every duty coming before him in a fair and impartial and business-like manner.
Friday, April 11, will be set aside as Clean Up Day for the town of Ackerman. Every householder is expected to have premises previously cleaned and all tin cans, rubbish placed in barrels or boxes ready to be hauled off. Co-operation is assured by the town authorities and wagons will be furnished for hauling. Everybody get ready! Civic Committee
Married, on Sunday afternoon March 16th, 1919 near Beulah church, while seated in a car with a few relatives and friends present, Miss Ida McKnight was married to Mr. Joe Wade. The bride is the beautiful daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. McKnight of Chester and the groom is a young man of high honor and esteem of Weir.

Tuesday, 8 p.m., Program by 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Grades and the Music Expression Departments. Wednesday, 8 p.m., Operetta by High School, led by Miss Cora Morris. Thursday, 8 p.m. Class Play “Miss Fearless & Co.” Friday 8 p.m. Graduating Exercises and Delivery of Diplomas. There will be no charges for any number except the class play for which an admission of 25c and 35c will be charged to defray commencement expenses. Returned soldier and sailor boys admitted free. H. J. W. Reed has announced as candidate for Supervisor of Beat Two. Although he is entering the political arena for the first time, he is no stranger to the people of Beat Two, having been a resident of that Beat since the year 1866.
The Twentieth Century Club met with Mrs. L. M. Adams March 12th. After the business session came the program. First, a vocal solo by Mrs. Seawright, Story, King of the Golden River, by Mrs. E. B. Dobbs. Mrs. T. B. Quinn favored the Club with a song. Mrs. E. E. Buck gave the current events after which two beautiful piano selections were rendered by Mrs. Hearon. The Club adjourned for the social half during which the hostess served delicious ice cream and cake. The next meeting was held with Mrs. Alford March 26th.
