Multiple agencies were involved in last week’s arrest of a Mathiston man on felony firearms and drug charges.
The arrest was made the night of Feb. 18 at the 15 Dobbs Road residence of Casey Narmour, which is in Choctaw County just south of the Webster County line off Highway 15.
Choctaw County Sheriff Brandon Busby said Narmour, 49, was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Other charges could be filed against him, Busby said Monday.
Narmour’s arrest was made through the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Mississippi Department of Corrections in collaboration with the Mathiston Police Department, according to Busby. He also said the Webster County Sheriff’s Department arrived after the scene was secured with its K9 unit.
Narmour is being held in the Choctaw County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
He pleaded guilty during the February 2016 term of Choctaw County Circuit Court to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Narmour was sentenced to serve a term of five years and one day in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections; after serving one day he was to be released and placed on post-release supervision for five years. He was given credit for the one day served.
