Friends of the Library will be sponsoring The Giving Tree at the Choctaw County Library starting November 29. This holiday tree will have special ornaments which will allow the community to give back to the Library. Each ornament on The Giving Tree will be decorated with a needed item. The public is encouraged to visit the Library, choose an ornament, and donate the cost of that item to Friends of the Library organization. The items will then be purchased and given to the Library. “This is a creative fundraiser for our Library during this season of giving,” said Mrs. Charlotte Taylor, President, “What a wonderful way to help make a difference.”
The purpose the Friends of the Library organization is to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries, to focus public attention on library services, facilities and needs, to stimulate gifts of books, magazines, collection endowments and bequests, and to purchase items intended to benefit the library and patrons. Friends of the Choctaw County Library is working diligently to bring awareness to the public about the Library and the importance it holds in our local community.
Donations to The Giving Tree fundraiser are tax deductible and will help improve services to the community. The Giving Tree will be available beginning November 29.
