Two Miss Mississippi local preliminaries, Miss Southern Oaks and Miss Belle of the Bayou, will take place Saturday, Nov. 17, in Eupora.
Two Miss crowns will be given away and two Teen crowns will be given away. The Miss America Organization, which is 97 years old, gives more scholarships to young women than any other organization in the world.
Miss Mississippi Asya Danielle Branch will be in town that day to emcee and a meet-and-greet will be held with her before the pageant.
The pageant will be at 6 p.m. at Eupora High School’s Latham Auditorium. The meet-and-greet with Miss Mississippi will be at 5 p.m. in the auditorium, where she will be signing autographs. Admission to the pageant will be $10 at the door.
Competition will be held in five categories for the Miss contestants. Each young lady will compete in a private interview, lifestyle and fitness, talent, evening gown and onstage question.
