District 6820 Gov. Mark Fields visited the Eupora Rotary Club on Jan. 7.
Fields said Rotary International has identified four priorities to serve as the foundation of its new strategic plan: will increase its impact, expand its reach, enhance participant engagement and increase its ability to adapt.
He also noted that RI’s Rotary Foundation has received 12 consecutive four-star ratings (the highest possible) from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the United States.
The foundation’s mission is enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.
Fields also discussed Rotary International’s ongoing efforts to eradicate polio in the two countries that continue to report cases: Afghanistan and Pakistan. World Polio Day is Oct. 24.
