What seemed to be a normal, cool day April 16 ended being much warmer for a few people from Double Springs Baptist Church and the residents and workers at Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home south of Mathiston.
That was the day for the regular monthly visit to Brooklyn Hall by Double Springs Baptist Church, which is located on Maben-Sturgis Road. As always, there was no shortage of singers to make the trip.
Mary Sue Boatman, who always is with the group, filled in on the piano In the absence of Ginger Carden. Ed Lacy, who is a retired Natchez Trace park ranger living in Choctaw County, led the group in old familiar songs in the absence of Brother Shorty Carden. Many of the residents joined in.
After a singing session at the home, the group stayed around and visited with the residents, many of whom are well-known friends of the church group.
The residents of the home enjoyed the visit and singing. The people of Double Springs Baptist and the other churches involved enjoyed it as much.
