This past Thursday, residents of the Choctaw Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, many of whom were dressed in pink, celebrated a Pink Day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On hand to provide refreshments were Jackie Nason & Shea Cates of Kindred Hospice. Nason spoke briefly about different types of cancer and some things that can be done to help prevent the disease.
She and Cates presented the residents with pink arm bands in honor of the event.
After refreshments, all residents who wished to went outdoors where they were given pink balloons and released them as a reminder that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
