The Choctaw County Flea Market began in 2012 as part of the MSU Extension's Turning the Tide on Poverty project. The flea market, which is held every Spring and Fall, offers families a venue where they can sell arts, crafts, yard sale items, home-grown produce and more. "The flea market is continuing to grow. People are able to sell a variety of items from handmade crafts to yard sale items to help raise money for their family. We do not charge a vendor fee," stated Juli Hughes, Extension County Coordinator in Choctaw County.
Flea Market will be Saturday, October 5 from 8:00am - 12:00pm in the Choctaw Regional Medical Center parking lot in Ackerman. There will be vendors, food, games and activities for children. A Pet Show, sponsored by Ackerman Twentieth Century Club, will be held with proceeds going to the Choctaw County Library. Registration begins at 9am and show at 9:30am. Entry fee is $2 per category.
