The Eupora Board of Aldermen has entered into a contract for lease of the concession stand at Gary Park.
The board did so at a special-called meeting April 16, when it approved the contract by a 4-0 vote; Robert Gibbs (Ward 4) was absent.
The contract is between the city and Diane Tomlinson, who was the only person who expressed interest in leasing the concession stand. Board attorney Jacqueline Meek said the state Auditor’s Office told her the city did not have to bid it out.
The term of the lease is from April 21-Oct. 31. The contract grants Tomlinson the exclusive right to sell refreshments at the concession stand during games, and all proceeds from their sale will go to her.
Tomlinson must make two rentals of $300 each on or before May 1 and Aug. 1, and must supply all inventory to be sold at Gary Park during games during that time. Any assistants hired will be at her expense, and she will be responsible for the conduct of all her employees and for all sales tax. The city will pay all utilities on the building.
