A traffic stop last week in Mathiston resulted in drug charges being brought against the driver.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Department said in a release that deputies stopped a suspicious vehicle in Mathiston on April 17. The driver was identified as Stephanie Lamb, 29, of Mathiston and a juvenile passenger identified himself as the vehicle owner.
Upon consensual search of the vehicle by Lamb and the passenger, over 5 grams of what the department said is believed to be methamphetamine was discovered in a makeup bag along with some pills, according to the release. The WCSD said drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle.
The juvenile was released to his parents and Lamb was taken into custody. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Lamb was released on a $5,000 bond April 18.
