The Winston County Library hosted its annual summer reading with three different programs; tiny tots, children, and teens. The theme for this summer was “A Universe of Stories” which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
The Tiny Tots program worked with children ages 3-5.The children program worked with students in the grades 1st- 5th. The teen program was for grades 6ht through 12th.
It all wrapped up on June 25th with awards day at 2pm. After awards, a fun water day was held courtesy of The Louisville Fire Department. Also, snow cones from the Sugar Shack, and the G & J Traveling Petting Zoo were on hand. The grand prize of $50 gift card from Wal-Mart was also awarded.
“We are so fortunate to have local business to sponsor these wonderful programs each year”, said Librarian Beth Edwards. “Without them, we would not be able to have the high level of educational and entertaining programming that we offer.” “In addition to our corporate sponsors, the Louisville Banker’s Association is providing funding for reading prizes.”
