Maben Mayor Larry Pruitt was the guest speaker for the Mayor’s Health Council and Controllers 4-H Club “Salute to Health” Recognition Program.
Joann Ford, Mayor’s Health Council member, and Earlie Spencer, Controllers 4-H Clubs volunteer, welcomed the crowd of over 70 people. Rose Coffey Graham, Controllers organization leader, served as mistress of ceremony and presented the occasion. The Controllers Choir rendered the music.
Over 50 awards were presented to council members, 4-H members and volunteers, individuals, churches, businesses and organizations. Eileen Tabb with the Department of Health received the Friends of 4- H Award.
Pastor Nelson Forrest introduced the guest speaker, Mayor Pruitt. His message included giving seven keys and a key ring to the attendees from a spiritual stand point.
The dinner was catered by Deborah Jones and consisted of fried and baked chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, tea and cake for dessert. Door prizes were given away to children and adults by Annie Ferguson and Jameka Coffey.
