While the high school football season may still be a couple months away, the Choctaw Plaindealer and Webster Progress Times newspapers will begin their coverage of the 2019 season next week as the first member of the Choctaw/Webster ‘Eleven To Watch’ is unveiled.
Coaches from Choctaw County High School, French Camp Academy, East Webster High School and Eupora High School all nominated players for the elite preseason team. Sports writers Robbie Robertson and Austin Bishop reviewed the nominations and chose the players who will be honored.
They will be unveiled, in no particular order, one week at a time beginning with the June 5 edition of the paper.
The idea behind this series of in-depth articles on the local student-athletes is to give football fans in the two-county area an idea what players to be on the lookout for in 2019.
