The Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School saw their region basketball schedule take a COVID-forced break just one game into league play.
After losing the region opener to French Camp Academy 56-45 last Tuesday, one of the Lady Tiger starters tested positive, forcing the team to go into quarantine. The Noxapater girls were unable to play against McAdams on Friday and then were forced to postpone these week’s games against Ethel on Tuesday and at Nanih Waiya on Friday.
The boys will not play on Tuesday as well, as the date with Ethel will be rescheduled. The Noxapater boys will pay a visit to NW on Friday. As of press deadline the the NW-Noxapater boys varsity game was to start at 6 p.m.
Asia Glass scored 17 points to lead the Lady Tigers in the FCA game, while Laney Boatner scored 11.
The Noxapater boys dropped a pair of contests last week, losing to French Camp 68-52 and McAdams 71-48.
Kyle Phillips was the leading scoring for the Noxapater boys in both games, hitting for 26 against FCA and 18 against McAdams. D.J. Kelly also scored double-figures in both games for the Tigers, notching 13 against McAdams and 11 against FCA.
