The Nanih Waiya baseball team lost two of three games this past week, including both division baseball games.
The Warriors lost 16-11 to Eupora on Tuesday and 8-4 to the Eagles on Thursday. The Warriors finished the week with a 15-5 run-rule win over Kemper Academy on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya was scheduled to play Noxapater on Monday and then play at West Point on Thursday in a pair of non-division contests.
Eupora 16, Nanih Waiya 11
The two teams combined for 27 runs, 21 hits and 16 errors as the Eagles came out on top on Tuesday.
Nanih Waiya led early, scoring two in the first and three in the second to go up 5-0. But Eupora scored four in the third, six in the fourth and five in the fifth. Nanih Waiya then scored two in the fourth, fifth and seventh to take the win.
Nanih Waiya had nine hits as Austin Windle was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Bentley King was 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Gavin Daniel was 2-for-3. Braxton Flake and Aiden Hill each singled and drove in two runs.
Hill started on the mound and gave up 16 runs with only three being earned as he gave up 11 hits and three walks while striking out two. King pitched the last 1 2/3 innings and gave up one hit.
Eupora 8, Nanih Waiya 4
The Eagles built an early lead and took a four-run win over the Warriors on Thursday in division play.
Nanih Waiya scored one in the top of the first before Eupora answered with two in the first and second innings. The Eagles added one in the third before Nanih Waiya scored three in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-4. But Eupora finished with two in the fourth and one in the fifth to take the win.
Nanih Waiya had five hits as Bentley King was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Aiden Hill was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Tanner Courtney started on the mound and gave up eight runs on 10 hits while striking out five.
Nanih Waiya 15, Kemper Academy 5
The Warriors overcame an early deficit and took a six-inning, run-rule win over the Rams on Saturday.
Kemper scored all of of its runs in the top of the first, but Nanih Waiya answered with five the bottom of the frame. After two scoreless innings, Nanih Waiya scored three in the fourth and fifth with four in the sixth.
Nanih Waiya had 12 hits as Austin Windle was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs. Braxton Flake was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Chance Starnes was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Eli Stanton singled, walked twice and scored three runs while Jake Vick also scored three runs.
Cal Adcock started but did not get an out, giving up five runs on three hits and two walks. Walt McClendon pitched six innings in relief and scattered six hits and a walk while striking out six.
