It was a tough week for the Nanih Waiya Warriors on the baseball diamond.
The Warriors dropped a 12-5 decision against Sebastopol on Monday and then lost 4-3 to Scott Central on Tuesday.
Nanih Waiya will play at Kemper County on Tuesday and then host the Wildcats on Friday. They will finish the week on Saturday by hosting Ethel.
Sebastopol 12, Nanih Waiya 5
The Bobcats used a pair of big innings and took a seven-point win over the Warriors on Monday.
After two scoreless innings, Sebastopol scored six runs in the third. Nanih Waiya answered with one in the fourth and three in the fifth to cut the score to 6-4. But the Bobcats answered with one in the fifth and five in the sixth to take the win.
The Warriors had just three hits but drew six walks. Aiden Hill was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Walt McClendon doubled and drove in two runs while Eli Stanton scored two runs. Bentley King walked three times and scored twice.
Hill pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up 11 runs one nine hits and three walks while striking out four. King pitched the last 2/3 of an inning and gave up one run on one hit.
Scott Central 4, Nanih Waiya 3
The Rebels scored in the top of the seventh and took a one-run win over the Warriors on Tuesday.
The Warriors scored one in the first, third and fifth while Scott Central scored one in the second, third, fifth and seventh innings.
Nanih Waiya had eight hits as Aiden Hill was 3-for-3 with a double. Eli Stanton was 2-for-4 with a double while Braxton Flake singled and drove in two runs.
Tanner Courtney pitched all seven innings and gave up four runs on nine hits while striking out three.
