The Noxapater basketball teams only got in one game last week but made the most out of it.
The Lady Tigers started fast and took a 16-point win over the Lady Panthers.
The Tigers overcame a first-half deficit and took a 44-39 win over the Panthers.
Noxapater’s game with Nanih Waiya on Tuesday was cancelled because of winter weather and was rescheduled for Thursday. Both teams will resume district play on Tuesday as the host McAdams and then Ethel on Friday. They will finish the regular season the following week as they host Velma Jackson on Tuesday, Jan. 30 and then finish on the road at Nanih Waiya on Friday, Feb. 2
Noxapater girls 42, French Camp 26
The Lady Tigers started fast at the beginning of each half and took a 16-point win over the Lady Panthers on Friday.
Noxapater opened up a 16-11 lead in the first period before French Camp outscored the Lady Tigers 8-7 in the second period to cut the lead to 23-19. Noxapater then outscored French Camp 12-3 in the third period and 7-4 in the fourth to take the win.
Nadia Bates led Noxapater with 12 points while Kaliyah Moore had 11 points. Taylor Hamilton also had nine points for the Lady Tigers.
Noxapater boys 44, French Camp 39
The Tigers overcame a halftime deficit and rallied to take a five-point win over the Panthers in district play on Friday night.
French Camp outscored Noxapater 14-10 in the first and 14-12 in the second period to lead 28-22 at the half. Noxapater then outscored French Camp 8-6 in the third to cut the lead to 34-30 going to the fourth period. The Tigers then pulled away and outscored the Panthers 14-5 in the fourth to take the win.
Shamarion Harden led Noxapater with 19 points while Jy Riddle had seven points.
