The Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors continued their strong play with two more wins last week.
The Lady Warriors took a pair of 22-point wins, beating West Lowndes 61-39 and Eupora 46-24 to improve to 9-1 on the season.
The Warriors split a pair of games last week, falling 61-48 to to West Lowndes but beating Eupora 74-57.
Nanih Waiya is scheduled to play at Winona on Tuesday and will return for the Christmas break on Tuesday, Jan. 2 as they host McAdams to open district play.
Nanih Waiya girls 61, West Lowndes 39
The Lady Warriors built an early lead and cruised to a 22-point win over the Lady Eagles.
Nanih Waiya opened up a 19-13 lead in the first period and then outscored West Lowndes 15-7 in the second to lead 34-20 at the half. Nanih Waiya continued to extend its lead in the second half as they outscored West Lowndes 15-14 in the third and 12-5 in the fourth.
Nyshea Hoskin led Nanih Waiya with 23 points while Alexzandria Eiland had 13 points. Hunter Phillips had 12 points and seven rebounds.
West Lowndes boys 61, Nanih Waiya 48
The Panthers used a big advantage on the free-throw line, especially in the fourth period to take a 13-point win over the Warriors.
Nanih Waiya led 14-12 at the end of the first and each team scored 16 points in the second period as the Warriors led 30-28 at the half. West Lowndes outscored Nanih Waiya 16-12 in the third period to take a 44-42 lead going into the fourth. But the Panthers made 15 free throws in the fourth period and outscored the Warriors 17-6 in the period to pull away and take the win.
Preston Prewitt led Nanih Waiya with 16 points while Jaquaris Hughes had 13 points. Conner Hickman had 10 points while Sameer Hughes had six points.
Nanih Waiya girls 46, Eupora 24
The Lady Warriors started fast and cruised to a 22-point win over the Lady Eagles on Friday.
Nanih Waiya jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first period and 12-6 in the second period to lead 28-8 at the half. Eupora took the third period 10-7 to cut the lead to 35-18 going to the fourth. Nanih Waiya then outscored Eupora 11-6 in the fourth for the final margin.
Nyshea Hoskin continued her strong play with a game-high 27 points. Alexzandria Hoskin had seven points while Hunter Phillips and Kylianna Spivey each had six points apiece.
Nanih Waiya boys 74, Eupora 57
The Warriors outscored the Eagles in every period and took a 17-point win.
Nanih Waiya opened up with a 16-13 lead in the first period and then outscored Eupora 18-11 in the second period to lead 34-24 at the half. Nanih Waiya then outscored Eupora 16-10 in the third period to extend the lead to 60-34 going to the fourth period. The Warriors took the fourth period 24-23 for the final margin.
The Warriors used a balanced scoring attack to take the win. Bryce Boler led Nanih Waiya with 16 points while Jake Vick had 15 points. Jaquaris Hughes had 14 points while Conner Hickman had 12 points. Sameer Hughes had 11 points while Preston Prewitt had six points.
