The Noxapater softball team got in plenty of action last week as they played five games, winning three of those contests.
The Lady Tigers opened the week with a 13-3 win over Starkville on Monday and then beat Louisville 12-2 on Tuesday.
On Friday, the Lady Tigers fell 13-1 to Choctaw County but bounced back to beat Philadelphia 9-7 on Saturday. They finished the week on Saturday with an 18-1 loss to Sebastopol.
Noxapater is scheduled to host Leake County in a doubleheader on Tuesday and play at Starkville on Thursday and host Columbus on Friday to end the week.
Noxapater 13, Starkville 3
The Lady Tigers took advantage of nine errors as they took a five-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Yellowjackets soon Monday.
Starkville scored one in the top of the first while Noxapater scored two in the first and second and six in the third. Starkville addd one in the third and fifth while Noxapater scored three in the fifth to win by the run rule.
Noxapater had seven hits as Marley Joiner was 2-for-3 with a double and triple and three RBIs. Asia Glass was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kelli Thomas was 2-for-4 with a double while Kenzie Harrell singled and drove in three runs. Jodie Wilkes scored three runs while Makayla Bartholomew scored two runs and the two RBIs.
Marley Joiner pitched all five innings and got the win, giving up three runs on six hits and five walks while striking out six.
Noxapater 12, Louisville 2
The Lady Tigers scored in four of the five innings and took a run-rule win over the Lady Wildcats on Tuesday.
Louisville scored single runs in the first and second while Noxapater scored three in the first and two in the second to lead 5-2. The Lady Tigers added three in the fourth and four in the fifth to take the win.
Noxapater outhit Louisville 8-4 in the contest and each team committed five errors while the Lady Tigers drew eight walks. Marley Joiner was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs while Jodie Wilkes was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Caroline Swindle singled scored twice and had two RBIs while Kaliyah Moore singled and drove in two runs. Kaitlyn Sanborn also singled and scored twice while Kenzie Harrell doubled.
Joiner picked up the win in the circle, pitched all five innings and giving up two unearned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five.
Choctaw County 13, Noxapater 1
The Lady Chargers started fast and took a four-inning, run-rule win on Friday.
Choctaw scored seven in the first, followed by three in the second and third innings while Noxapater scored its one run in the third.
Choctaw outhit Noxapater 9-1 while the Lady Tigers committed six errors.Carline Swindle had Noxapater’s only hit while Kelli Thomas walked and scored.
Marley Joiner pitched all three innings for Noxapater.
Noxapater 9, Philadelphia 7
In a time-limit game, the Lady Tigers opened a big early lead and held on to take a two-run win.
Philly scored one in the top of the first before Noxapater answered with six in the bottom of the frame and added two in the second and one in the third. Philly added three in the third and fourth for the final margin.
Both teams had six hits in the contest. Kaitlyn Sanborn was 2-for-2 with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Kenzie Harrell was 2-for-3 and scored a run while Asia Glass doubled and drove in two runs. Marley Joiner walked twice and scored two runs while Jodie Wilkes also scored twice.
Joiner pitched two innings while Harrell and Sadie Fitch also pitched one inning apiece.
Sebastopol 18, Noxapater 1
The Lady Bobcats scored 10 in the bottom of the first and took a five-inning, run-rule win on Saturday.
After 10 in the first, Sebastopol scored six in the second and two in the third.
Sebastopol outhit Noxapater 17-6 and the Lady Tigers committed eight errors.
Kyleigh Daugherty was 2-for-2 and scored a run while Kelli Thomas had a double. Jodie Wilkes, Caroline Swindle and Marley Joiner also had singles.
Joiner pitched three innings and gave up 18 runs but only two were earned on 16 hits and two walks. Wilkes pitched a scoreless last inning.
