The Charger and Lady Charger track teams are headed to state. Tomorrow morning, all roads lead to Pearl as they will compete with the best of 2A in hopes of bringing a state championship back to Choctaw County.
Recently, the track team competed in Potts Camp in the MSHAA 1A and 2A meets.
In the girls’ races, Fannie Miller placed second in the girls 100 meter and 200 meter heats. In the 100 meter, Miller ran a 12.97 and in the 200, she finished with a 29.59.
In the 400 Raeley Barkley finished sixth in the 300 meter with a time of 1:08.31. In the hurdles, Zanaiya Woodard finished fourth in the 100 with a time of 18.16 and seventh in the 300 hurdles with at time of 57.33. Jayla Kirkwood finished eighth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 22.78.
In the 4x1, the girls’ team finished third and in the 4x4, they finished sixth.
In the high jump Kami Beard came in first with a jump of 4-10 and Miller came in first in the long jump with a jump of 16-11. Beard finished third in the pole vault, with a vault of 7-06.
In the shot put, Jaqueria Estes finished seventh with a throw of 28-02.
In the boys’ heats, Za’baius Miller finished third in the 100 meter, with a time of 11.48. Javontaye Robinson finished seventh with a time of 26.69. In the 400 meter, Tyler Evans finished sixth with a time of 57.36 and Jahiem Woodard finished seventh with a time of 58.38.
In the hurdles, Trenaevius Liggins finished seventh in the 110 and finished third in the 300 with a time of 43.79. Jaedin Thames finished eighth in the 300 with a time of 48.43.
The boys finished fourth in the 4x1, 4x2 and the 4x4. In the 4x8, the boys finished fifth.
In the high jump, Jaquan Lewis finished seventh and in the long jump and triple jump, Devon Jordan finished seventh and sixth.
In the Pole Vault, Tate Miller finished fifth, and in the discus, Hunter Holland finished second with a throw of 117-05. In the shotput, Calvin Roberts finished first with a throw of 42-03 and Holland finished sixth with a throw of 39-03.
