The Noxapater Tigers split a pair of games last week on the basketball courts.
The Tigers fell behind early and fought back to take a 64-60 win over Eupora. They lost a 58-33 decision to Starkville Academy.
The Lady Tigers lost both games last week, falling 61-51 to Eupora and 51-19 to Starkville Academy.
Noxapater is scheduled to return to action on Dec. 6 as they travel to Grace Christian and will host rival Nanih Waiya on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
Noxapater boys 64, Eupora 60
The Tigers overcame an early deficit and used a big third period to take a four-point win over the Eagles last week.
Eupora started quick and led 16-9 at the end of the first. Each team scored 14 points in the second period as Eupora led 30-23 at the half. Noxapater then outscored Eupora 25-16 in the third period and led 48-46 going to the fourth. The Tigers then outscored the Eagles 16-14 in the fourth to take the win.
Kyle Phillips led Noxapater with 22 points while K.D. Carter had 16 points.
Eupora girls 61, Noxapater 51
The Lady Eagles built and early lead and pulled away in the fourth to take a 10-point win over the Lady Tigers last week.
Eupora led 14-10 at the end of the first and 17-13 in the second to lead 31-23 at the half. Noxapater outscored Eupora 13-9 in the third to pull within 40-36 going to the fourth. The Lady Eagles then outscored the Lady Tigers 21-15 to take the win.
Asia Glass led Noxapater with 16 points while Caroline Swindle had 10 points.
Starkville Academy boys 58, Noxapater 33
The Volunteers outscored the Tigers in every period as they took a 25-point win.
Starkville outscored Noxapater 13-6 in both the first and second period as the Volunteers led 23-12 at the half. The Volunteers continued to extend their lead as they outscored the Tigers 17-10 in the third and 15-11 in the fourth to take the win.
K.D. Carter led the Tigers with nine points while James Kugle had eight points.
Starkville Academy girls 51, Noxapater 19
The Lady Tigers struggled from the field as the Lady Volunteers took a 32-point win.
Starkville led 13-0 at the end of the first and 23-7 at the half. Starkville put the game away in the third, outscoring Noxapater 20-5 to lead 43-12 going to the fourth.
Arianna Hathorn led Noxapater with eight points while Laney Boatner had seven points.
