Nanih Waiya won three out of four contest last week as both teams opened basketball season.
The Warriors took a pair of wins, beating Kemper Academy 64-38 and Eupora 57-34. The Lady Warriors split their two games, beating Kemper 49-15 and falling 56-54 to Eupora.
Nanih Waiya will return to action this week as they are scheduled to travel to French Camp on Tuesday and host Choctaw County on Thursday.
After the Thanksgiving break, both teams will host Winona on Monday, Nov. 29 and travel to West Lauderdale on Tuesday, Nov. 30. They will finish out the week on Friday, Dec. 3 as they host host Choctaw County.
Nanih Waiya boys 64, Kemper Academy 38
The Warriors pulled away in the last three period and took a 26-point win over the Rams last week.
Kemper led 18-17 at the end of the first period but the Warriors outscored the Rams 15-8 win the second and led 32-26 at the half. Nanih Waiya continued to extend the lead in the second half as they outscored Kemper 12-6 in the third and 20-6 in the fourth to take the win.
Rico Moore led the Warriors with 20 points while Eli Stanton had 19 points and Hagan Halfacre added 14 points.
Nanih Waiya girls 49, Kemper Academy 15
The Lady Warriors dominated the Lady Rams and took a 34-point win.
Nanih Waiya dominated the first half, outscoring KA 17-3 in the first and 15-3 in the second to lead 32-6 at the half. Each team scored eight in the third period and the Lady Warriors took the fourth 9-1 for the final margin.
Taina Thompson led Nanih Waiya with 14 points while Ambria Tubby had eight points. Morgan Mills had seven points while Natalee Eaves had six points.
Nanih Waiya boys 57, Eupora 34
The Warriors outscored the Eagles in every period and took a 17-point win.
Nanih Waiya opened up with a 19-11 lead and led 30-17 at the half. The Warriors continued to extend the lead and outscored theEagles 14-5 in the third to take a 44-22 lead into the fourth.
Hagan Halfacre led the Warriors with 22 points while Rico Moore had 14 points and Eli Stanton added 12 points.
Eupora girls 56, Nanih Waiya 54
The Lady Eagles built a first-half lead and held on to take a two-point win over the Lady Warriors.
Eupora led 15-14 in the first and outscore the Lady Warriors 17-12 in the second to lead 32-26 at the half. Nanih Waiya fought back in the second half and outscored Eupora 11-8 in the third and 17-16 in the fourth for the final margin.
Morgan Mills led Nanih Waiya with 15 points while Ambrin Tubby had 11 points. Angel Clemmons, Hunter Phillips and Taina Thompson each had eight points apiece.
