French Camp finally got the basketball season started last week with a pair of games.
The Lady Panthers picked up the lone win of the week with a 54-28 win over Nanih Waiya but lost 37-25 to Winona.
The Panthers lost 53-38 to Nanih Waiya and 38-26 to Winona.
French Camp will return to action after the Thanksgiving break as they host Eupora on Tuesday, Nov. 30 and will travel to Pisgah on Friday, Dec. 3.
French Camp girls 54, Nanih Waiya 28
The Lady Panthers pulled away in the second half to take a 26-point win over the Lady Warriors.
French Camp led 8-5 at the end of the first but Nanih Waiya outscored the Lady Panthers 13-9 in the second to lead 18-17 at the half. The Lady Panthers had a big second half as they outscored the Lady Warriors 20-6 in the third and 17-4 in the fourth.
Jasmine Bonty had a big game for French Camp with 17 points and 13 rebounds while Grace Ann Wade had 14 point and Emma Wright added 12 points.
Nanih Waiya boys 53, French Camp 38
The Warriors used quick starts to both halves and took a 15-point win over the Panthers.
Nanih Waiya opened up with a 15-7 lead in the first period. But French Camp outscored Nanih Waiya 10-2 in the second to tie the game at 17-17. Nanih Waiya outscored French Camp 19-9 in the third and 17-12 in the fourth to take the win.
No individual scorers were available for the Panthers.
Winona girls 37, French Camp 25
With five players gone, the Lady Panthers struggled as the Lady Tigers took a 12-point win.
Winona jumped out to a 16-7 lead in the first and led 21-13 at the half. French Camp fought back and outscored Winona 12-4 in the third to tie the game at 25-25 going to the fourth. Winona outscored French Camp 12-0 in the fourth to take the win.
Jasmine Bonty led French Camp with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Emma Wright had eight points.
Winona boys 38, French Camp 26
The Tigers outscored the Panthers in three of the four periods and took a 12-point win last week.
Winona led 5-2 after the first period and 14-8 at the half. Each team scored 12 points in the third period while Winona took the fourth period 12-6 to take the win.
No individual scorers were available for the Panthers.
