In an emergency meeting, on Wednesday, March 18, dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors met to discuss whether or not access to the Courthouse and other county buildings should be limited, for the protection of County workers as well as the public.
Unanimously, the Supervisors voted to place a sign at the East Quinn St. entrance, requesting that everyone use the east entrance off of Harmon Circle.
The sign will be in place by Thursday morning, March 19.
The Board also recognized all county workers are considered to be essential personnel, and all departments will work at full staffing.
However, if an employee presents documentation from a doctor, whenever possible, stating that the employee is high-risk, he/she will be excused from work.
The Board voted unanimously to adjourn but will meet as often as necessary to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic under the national emergecny declaration.
