In a called meeting, held on Thursday, March 12, the Choctaw County Board of Supervisors mheard from Mike Hughes concerning insurance premiums which show an 11% increase over last year.
The Board voted unanimously to accept the new increases.
Sheriff Brandon Busby requested the purchase of a 2020 Dodge Durango as a patrol vehicle at a cost of $33.1K, and the purchase of a drug K-9 at a cost of $6.5K. The dog is a two-and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois from Southern State K-9. The cost also includes training for the handler, Brad Vaughn.
The Board voted unanimously to approve the purchases.
