On Sunday, June 28, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from Louisville Police Department received a call to respond to The Junction located near the intersection of West Main Street and the Hwy. 15/25 bypass. Upon arrival, officers discovered a body in a Ford pickup truck, in the parking lot. Fire and EMS services were dispatched to the scene, as well. Once the scene was secure, and upon examination of the body, it was determined that Henry James Chaoate, 23, of Gardners, Pennsylvania, was deceased and had died of an apparent suicide, as was confirmed by video surveillance. Chaoate’s family was notified immediately. On average, there are 132 suicides per day in the United States. 48,344 people died by suicide in 2018, up from 47,173 the year before. Since 1999, the suicide rate has climbed 35%.
