It was a light week for the Nanih Waiya basketball teams but not a very good one.
Nanih Waiya was swept by visiting Kemper County as the Lady Warriors fell 44-31 and the Warriors lost 55-39.
Nanih Waiya again only has one game scheduled this week as they are scheduled to host Philadelphia on Tuesday. Next week, they will travel to Newton on Tuesday and host Lake on Friday.
Kemper County boys 55, Nanih Waiya 39
The Wildcats doubled up the Warriors in the first half and took a 16-point win on Tuesday.
Kemper outscored Nanih Waiya 12-6 in the first period and 18-9 in the second to lead 30-15 at the half. The Wildcats outscored the Warriors 11-8 in the third while Nanih Waiya took the fourth period 16-14 for the final margin.
Eli Stanton led Nanih Waiya with 19 points while Rico Moore had 12 points.
Kemper County girls 44, Nanih Waiya 31
The Lady Wildcats pulled away in the second half and took a 13-point win over the Lady Warriors.
Kemper led 12-7 at the end of the first but Nanih Waiya took the second period 11-9 and trailed 21-18 at the half. Kemper pulled away in the second half, outscoring Nanih Waiya 7-2 in the third and 16-11 in the fourth.
Zandy Eiland led Nanih Waiya with seven points while Natalee Eaves and Ambria Tubby each had six points.
