The Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors picked up three big wins last week.
The Lady Warriors opened the week with a big 41-33 win over rival Noxapater and then followed that up with a 71-39 win over Clarkdale and finished with a 40-20 win over Grace Christian.
The Warriors had a rough week with three losses. The Warriors dropped a 51-49 decision to rival Noxapater and then loss 48-47 to Clarkdale. They finished the week with a 47-15 loss to Grace Christian.
The Warriors were scheduled to host Noxapater on Monday and Newton on Tuesday to open division play. They will finish the week on Friday by hosting Kemper Academy.
Nanih Waiya girls 41, Noxapater 33
The Lady Warriors built an early lead and held on to take an eight-point win over the Lady Tigers last week.
The Lady Warriors started fast as they outscored the Lady Tigers 15-5 in the first period. The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Warriors 10-9 in the second and 10-8 in the third to cut the lead to 32-25 going to the fourth. Nanih Waiya finished off by outscoring Noxapater 9-8 in the fourth for the final margin.
Morgan Mills led Nanih Waiya with 12 points while Hunter Phillips had nine points. Zandy Eiland had seven points while Taina Thompson chipped in six points.
Kaliyah Moore and Asia Glass each had nine points to lead Noxapater.
Noxapater boys 51, Nanih Waiya 49
The Warriors were unable to hold onto a first-half lead as the Tigers took a two-point win over their in-county rivals.
Nanih Waiya outscored Noxapater 13-11 in each of the first two period and led 26-22 at the half. Noxapater then outscored Nanih Waiya 15-11 in the third and 14-12 in the fourth to take the win.
Caleb Ellingburg and Kyle Phillips each scored 12 points apiece to lead Noxapater.
Hagan Halfacre led Nanih Waiya with 21 points while Eli Santon had 14 points.
Nanih Waiya girls 71, Clarkdale 39
The Lady Warriors put the game away in the first period and cruised to a 32-point win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Nanih Waiya jumped out to a 25-4 lead in the first period and led 40-18 at the half. Nanih Waiya continued to extend it lead in the second half as they outscored Clarkdale 23-14 in the third and 8-7 in the fourth.
Ambria Tubby led Nanih Waiya with 17 points while Zandy Eiland had 15 points. Tania Thompson had nine points while Natalee Eaves and Angel Clemmens each had eight points. Hunter Phillips had seven points while Morgan Mills had six points.
Clarkdale boys 48, Nanih Waiya 47
The Warriors built an early lead but was unable to hold on as the Bulldogs rallied to take a one-point win.
Nanih Waiya outscored Clarkdale 13-6 in the first and 16-9 in the second to lead 29-15 at the half. But Clarkdale stormed back in the second half and outscored Nanih Waiya 24-7 in the third to take a 39-36 lead going to the fourth. The Warriors outscored the Bulldogs 11-9 in the fourth but fell short.
Hagan Halfacre led Nanih Waiya with 21 points while Bricetin Boler had nine points and Eli Stanton added six points.
Nanih Waiya girls 40, Grace Christian 20
The Lady Warriors outscored the Lady Eagles in every period and took a 20-point win.
Nanih Waiya led 5-2 after the first and 16-6 at the half. The Lady Warriors continued to extend their lead as they outscored the Lady Eagles 16-8 in the second and 8-6 in the fourth.
Zandy Eiland led Nanih Waiya with 11 points while Morgan Mills had nine points and Ambria Tubby added six points.
Grace Christian boys 47, Nanih Waiya 15
The Eagles dominated the action as they took a 32-point win over the Warriors.
Grace Christian led 15-5 at the end of the first and 22-7 at the half. Grace outscored Nanih Waiya 15-1 in the third and led 36-8 heading to the fourth. The Eagles outscored the Warriors 11-7 in the fourth for the final margin.
Eli Stanton led Nanih Waiya with nine points.
