Despite being off for three weeks, the French Camp basketball teams came back from the Christmas break and both came away with a pair of wins last week.
The Lady Panthers took a hard-fought 34-29 win over Noxapater on Tuesday and a 39-16 win over Ethel on Friday.
The French Camp boys also beat Noxapater 44-33 and Ethel 42-31 to open up division play for both squads.
French Camp will return to play this week with a pair of home games as they host Leake County on Tuesday and will then host McAdams on Friday.
French Camp Academy girls 34, Noxapater 29
The Lad Panthers knocked the rust off a three-week break and took a tough five-point win over the Lady Tigers last week in district play on Tuesday.
French Camp led 9-6 at the end of the first period and then outscored Noxapater 9-8 in the second to lead 18-14 at the half. Noxapater outscored French Camp 8-6 in the third to cut the lead to 24-22 going into the fourth. The Lady Panthers then outscored the Lady Tigers 10-7 in the fourth for the final margin.
Jasmine Bonty led French Camp with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
French Camp boys 44, Noxapater 33
The Panthers started fast and held that margin for the Magarity of the game to take an 11-point win over the Tigers.
French Camp jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first period and led 19-13 at the half. The Panthers outscored the Tigers 14-9 in the third and led 33-22 going to the fourth where each team scored 11 points apiece.
Cody Perry and Ethan Wright each had 13 points apiece while Ethan Chesser had 12 points. Macon Bentley also chipped in five points.
French Camp girls 39, Ethel 16
The Lady Panthers allowed only two second-half points as they pulled away to take a 23-point win over the Lady Tigers on Friday.
French Camp jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the first period and led 23-14 at the half. The Lady Panthers then pulled away in the second half as they outscored the Lady Tigers 6-1 in the third and 10-1 in the fourth.
Grace Ann Wade led French Camp with 18 points while Emma Wright had 11 points. Jasmine Bonty had eight points and 13 rebounds while Maddie Davis pulled down an amazing 22 rebounds for the Lady Panthers.
French Camp boys 42, Ethel 31
The Panthers pulled away in the second half to take a nine-point win over the rival Tigers last week.
Ethel led 12-11 at the end of the first period before French Camp outscored the Tigers 12-10 in the second to take a 23-22 lead at the half. French Camp started to pull away in the second half and outscored Noxapater 10-7 in the third and 9-2 in the fourth to take the win.
Cody Perry had a big game with 19 points to lead French Camp while Ethan Chesser had 13 points. Ethan Wright also chipped in six points.
