It was a rough week for the French Camp basketball teams this past week.
Neither team was able to come out with a win, despite some close game.
The French Camp girls lost 51-47 to McAdams and 52-37 to Sebastopol. The Panthers also dropped a pair of games, falling 89-59 to McAdams and 36-27 to Sebastopol.
The French Camp girls got a first-round bye in the division tournament, which will be held this week at Ethel. The Lady Panthers will play the winner of the McAdams and Noxapater game on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The French Camp boys were set to take on Noxapater on Monday at 5:30 p.m. and a win there would advance them to Tuesday to take on McAdams.
McAdams girls 51, French Camp 47
The Lady Bulldogs used a strong second period and held on in the end to take a four-point win over the Lady Panthers.
French Camp led 9-5 at the end of the first period but McAdams outscored the Lady Panthers 16-7 in the second period to take a 21-16 lead into the half. McAdams then outscored French Camp 21-17 in the third period to take a 42-33 lead into the fourth. French Camp outscored McAdams 14-9 in the fourth but the comeback fell short as the Lady Bulldogs took the win.
Grace Ann Wade had a big night for the Lady Panthers with 25 points while Jasmine Bonty had nine points and 15 rebounds.
McAdams boys 89, French Camp 59
The Bulldogs used a steady supply of offense as they pulled away to take a 30-point win over the Panthers.
McAdams held a slim 23-21 lead at the end of the first but outscored French Camp 23-9 in the second to lead 46-30 at the half. The Bulldogs kept pouring it on as they outscored the Panthers 21-17 in the third and 22-12 in the fourth,.
Cody Perry led French Camp with 17 points with five 3-pointers. Ethan Wright had 12 points while Silas Hodge had nine points and Macon Bentley added seven points.
Sebastopol girls 52, French Camp 37
In a battle of division leaders, the Lady Bobcats took control early as they took a 15-point win over the Lady Panthers.
Sebastopol jumped out to a 15-7 lead in the first period and outscored French Camp 14-8 in the second to take a 29-15 lead at the half. The Lady Bobcats put the game out of reach in the third, outscoring th4e Lady Panthers 13-6 in the third to take a 42-21 lead into the fourth. French Camp took the fourth period 16-10 for the final margin.
Maddie Davis and Emma Wright led French Camp with 10 points apiece.
Sebastopol boys 36, French Camp 27
The Bobcats overcame an early deficit and finished strong to take a nine-point win over the Panthers.
French Camp led 13-6 at the end of the first period but Sebastopol outscored the Panthers 8-4 in the second to cut the lead to 17-14 at the half. The Bobcats took the third period 6-4 to cut the lead to 21-20 going to the fourth. Sebastopol then outscored French Camp 16-6 in the fourth to secure the win.
Ethen Chesser led French Camp with 15 points while Macon Bentley had seven points.
