A recently convicted drug offender was arrested on a new felony drug charge last week in Webster County.
The arrest was made around 2 p.m. Oct. 18, when a Webster County K-9 unit and deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S 82 in Tomnolen. The traffic stop led to the arrest of Crystal Dixon, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Dixon, 47, was being held in the Webster County Jail as of Friday on a hold placed by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. She had an initial appearance with Justice Court Judge Rebecca Ellison on Thursday and was denied bond. Sgt. Brandon Chaille of the Webster County Sheriff’s Office said the judge denied bond because Dixon just recently began MDOC probation and this being her third arrest on drug charges in Webster County within the past 12 months.
The Winona Times reported Oct. 7 that, during the fall term of Montgomery County Circuit Court, Dixon pleaded guilty to possession of more than 2 grams but less than 10 grams of meth. She received eight years of post-release supervision, with five of those years reporting and three non-reporting. Her case for the same in Webster County was dismissed, according to the article.
